Book excerpt: New edition of the standard reference, previous editions of which are cited in American Reference Books Annual, Guide to Reference Books, and Books for College Libraries, 3d ed. This guide to finding information on American Indians presents entries detailing organizations, books, and prominent individuals. The first section is separated into listings of reservations and tribal councils, government agencies, national associations, financial institutions, schools, health services, museums, libraries, media, casinos, shops, periodicals, and events. The information in the entries is often fairly sparse, consisting of no more than a name and address. The bibliography covers some 6,000 in-print books.
