Book excerpt: It's the holiday season and Erica Parkhurst, part owner now of the Spirit Lake Inn, has organized an event called Enchanted Christmas. The weeklong event was to be open to couples only, but again fate intervenes and things don't go as planned. Paula Bascilla, Erica's best friend, is now living with her lover, Cal Motega, but things are not on an even keel.
