Teams competed in games ranging from keg tossing to case stacking, and there was plenty of Budweiser on tap. However, October brought another sign of the times to the sho campus in the form of a higher drinking age. In order to prevent losing millions of dollars in road and highway funds the Alabama State Legislature raised the legal drinking age to 21, effective October 1, 1985.
