Vic: A Savage Place

Book excerpt: Vic reads an old newspaper about a man-eating tree. It probably isn't true but just searching will make a nice adventure tale. She runs into killers enroute, has to survive in the wilderness, is attacked in the streets of Tamatave and then goes searching. Vic finds mind-boggling surprises, primates unlike any she has ever known, experiences a deja vu which she dismisses buy maybe shouldn't, and by the time she gets out, the geography of Madagascar has been altered!
