Book Synopsis An Alternative Theory of Global Warming by : George T. Croft

Book excerpt: A theory is developed based on well established knowledge and principles of Physics and Astronomy that correctly predicts the retreat of the recent North American ice sheets , the warming observed BP and an imminent onset of global cooling. In addition, the theory correctly predicts the seasons, and the reason hurricanes start near the Tropic of Cancer. The role of green house gases in determining the temperature of Earth is also discussed. Equations, based on established laws of physics, are derived and used to calculate the effects of changes in the eccentricity of Earth's orbit, the spin axis tilt, and the direction of the spin axis(the precession angle)on the energy received at any point on Earth. Graphs showing energy received by Earth vs. latitude and vs. precession and spin axis tilt angles are contained in the monograph. Temperatures and rate of change of temperature, BP and AP, are also calculated and compared with recent measurements.
