Book excerpt: Training circular (TC) 3-04.7 outlines requirements concerning aviation maintenance structure, organizations, and functions. The intended audiences are aviation maintenance commanders, leaders, officers, technicians, noncommissioned officers (NCOs), and aircraft repair and maintenance personnel. TC 3-04.7 applies to all active, Army Army National Guard (ARNG)/Army National Guard of the United States (ARNGUS), United States Army Reserve (USAR), civilian, and contract maintenance personnel unless otherwise stated. Commanders must consider the contents of this document and the particular circumstances in which they find themselves (national military objectives, available forces, threat capabilities, and rules of engagements) when planning maintenance operations. The term 'aircraft' refers to all Army aircraft types (rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and unmanned aircraft systems [UAS]), unless a specific aircraft has been identified in this publication.
