That method is all-important in deriving certainties from uncertainties, the knowable from the unknown. But it is worthless, except as a mode of mental discipline, when applied to deriving known principles of law from recorder opinions of certain judges, of which these principles are or are intended to be the foun dation, and in which they are' generally named and stated with more properly a deductive method, proceeding from analysis to syn thesis.
