Would the nation and world have been any different had this one man lived? Would the racial and equality issues we face even today have been a thing of the past had Lincoln served out his second term? By looking at what happened post Lincoln, we can ponder if he would have taken a different path. Also by examining the man he was, we can surmise how he would have worked to unite the nation. As he stated in his second inaugural address, "with malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds." Perhaps if he had lived, the world would have looked very much different.
