Book excerpt: Brand gets called to Service and waits to meet his Master. He quickly finds out that the Master is a famous football player, Marshall Taylor, but he is undecided about what kind of Servant he wants. Brand is in competition with at least five others and he is put on the spot immediately. He performs well enough to catch the Master’s attention, but it is with one of the Master’s friends that he makes an immediate connection, Chase McIntyre. Marshall decides to purchase four of the six Servants and moves them into his house. Chase and Brand take their infatuation to a whole new level, leaving them both in a dilemma with no resolution.
