Book excerpt: "If anyone had told me the things I know now about the Catholic Church when I was a seminarian or a young priest, I would have been outraged, would have plugged my ears, or would have run. I would not have believed such charges and would have regarded them as authored by the devil. I had been brain-washed against all such things. At sixteen years of age, I entered the seminary where I applied myself diligently, and at the age of twenty-eight, I was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the Discalced Carmelite Order.
